What is a CT scan?


A CT scan is a medical test that uses X-rays and computer technology to create detailed cross-sectional images of the body. Doctors can diagnose a range of conditions, including tumors, infection, injury, and internal bleeding, by being able to see clear, detailed pictures of organs and tissue.
