Scope of Service
The General Surgery Department at Royal Medical Centre provides comprehensive surgical care focused on accurate diagnosis, safe surgical intervention, effective recovery, and improved patient outcomes. Our experienced general surgeons offer personalized treatment plans based on each patient's condition, medical history, and individual needs.
The General Surgery Department provides the following treatments and services, but not limited to:
- Evaluation and surgical management of appendicitis and other abdominal conditions
- Gallbladder and biliary tract surgery, including treatment of gallstones
- Hernia diagnosis and surgical repair, including inguinal, umbilical, and incisional hernias
- Surgical management of anal and colorectal conditions, including hemorrhoids and anal fissures
- Treatment of pilonidal sinus and related conditions
- Management and surgical treatment of skin and soft-tissue conditions
- Excision of cysts, lipomas, and other benign lesions
- Management of breast lumps and selected breast conditions
- Surgical treatment of abscesses and localized infections
- Management of wounds and minor surgical injuries
- Laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical procedures, where clinically appropriate
- Pre-operative assessment, surgical planning, and patient counselling
- Post-operative care and follow-up to support safe and effective recovery
- Assessment and management of acute surgical conditions and emergencies
- Preventive and early evaluation of conditions that may require surgical intervention
